Hijokaidan - King of Noise LP (1985)
Classic release from Japanese kings of noise, Hijokaidan. This was later reissued on CD, but here we have a copy of the elusive original LP release on Alchemy. Vinyl is in excellent condition; the cover has some slight scuffing on the back, but is VG+.
"This 1985 album certainly lives up to their reputation, with tracks like "Tod Dem Marxismus" and "Self-Mutilation". What makes this...stand out among some of the other Hijokaidan releases we've heard, though, is the presence of T. Mikawa (of Incapacitants) on drums, as well as his usual voice and electronics. The tracks with his drumming make this into slightly more of a rhythmic noise-rock or VERY free jazz thing than the unrelenting vacuum-cleaner-from-hell howl typical of Hijokaidan. But the duo (for here Hijokaidan is but a duo, with usual member Junko credited only as "watcher" on 3 tracks, not even all of 'em!) doesn't neglect their trademark feedback frenzies with Jojo's electric guitar doing maximum damage. Perhaps for noiseniks only, but a good 'un. Brain-cleansing. " - Aquarius Records
