Yasushi Ozawa RIP
« on: February 08, 2008, 08:12:43 AM »
Word has just reached me Yasushi Ozawa, bassist with Fushitsha and member of Marginal Consort, East Bionic Symphonia, etc, passed away a couple of days ago.

Personally I am really saddened by this, as he was a lovely fellow. A fantastic bassist too - though he hadn't played with Haino for the past couple of years, I cannot imagine anyone being able to fill his shoes in Fushitsusha.

That's for sure a bad new.
How sad.
Rest in peace...

Though I have to admit to not being familiar with him by name until now, knowing what he was involved in makes me sad to hear of his death.

I don't know what the current status of Fushitsusha is/was (whether more albums were planned or not, since it seems like it has been quite a time since the last activity?), but it's sad that there's now no chance of further recordings with the long-standing Yasushi Ozawa. Browsing the discography, he was a member for the vast majority of the Fushitsusha releases, not least the monumental double live sets.
